Alfaero ATC Network: real controllers on Xbox and PC
On Xbox, nobody cleared you for takeoff. The Alfaero ATC Network brings air traffic control to Microsoft Flight Simulator, on Xbox and PC, with controllers from the community. The network is in beta and open to any Alfaero account.
Step by step
- You need the Alfaero Link add-on linked to the simulator and the Alfaero app on your phone, tablet or computer.
- With the flight started, open the More menu and tap ATC Network. Type the callsign and the aircraft type and tap Connect.
- The frequency follows the aircraft COM1 radio. When the controller assigns a squawk, tap apply and set the same code on the transponder.
- Send the flight plan before calling. The Near me tab shows the online controllers, with the frequency and the ATIS letter.
- To talk, hold the Hold to talk button. Without a microphone, you can listen and reply by text.
- Want to control? Tap Control (ATC), choose the aerodrome, the position and the frequency and open the position.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a microphone?
No. Without a microphone you hear the controller and reply by text, inside the app.
Can anyone be a controller?
Yes. In the same app, Control (ATC) opens a position at an aerodrome, with radar of the aircraft in range and the flight plan of each one.
