How to build a VFR route using the REA visual points
A real VFR route along the visual points of the São Paulo REA (Brazil's visual route chart), from Campo de Marte (SBMT) to Jundiaí (SBJD). The video shows the two ways to build the same route in Alfaero, and the app calculates the distance, course, time and altitude of each leg instantly.
Step by step
- Point by point: in the search bar, add SBMT, Penteado, Perus, Morato and SBJD, in that order.
- Whole route: paste SBMT PENTEADO PERUS MORATO SBJD into the search and the app interprets everything on its own.
- Check the distance, course, time and altitude of each leg in the panel.
- Follow the aircraft along the route on the map during the flight.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to type point by point?
No. You can paste the whole route, with the point names separated by spaces, and Alfaero builds all the legs at once.
Does the app replace the REA chart?
No. Planning in the app helps, but it does not replace the current chart or the pilot's own check.
