Weather on the map: rain, lightning, precipitation, winds and SIGMET
Before takeoff, check the weather on the map. In Alfaero, the cloud in the side bar turns on five weather layers. The video shows a real thunderstorm area over Goiânia and ends with a sunset over Fernando de Noronha.
Step by step
- Tap the cloud in the map side bar to open the weather layers.
- Observed rain: what the satellite is seeing right now.
- Lightning: where there are thunderstorms at this moment.
- Precipitation: the animated forecast for the next few days.
- Winds: direction and strength shown as particles.
- SIGMET: the hazard areas. Tap Explain with AI to read the advisory in plain language.
Frequently asked questions
Does the AI explain the SIGMET?
Yes. In the SIGMET layer, the Explain with AI button translates the coded advisory into plain language, without leaving the map.
Can I see the forecast, not just the current picture?
Yes. The precipitation layer shows the animated forecast for the next few days; observed rain and lightning show the current moment.
